We are a growing Primary School in Stowmarket, the heart of Mid Suffolk, which aims to offer consistently high standards of education and care, in a secure and stimulating environment with excellent facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Built in 1989 as part of a rapidly-expanding Chilton Hall Estate, Wood Ley School is currently home to 315 pupils with 12 full-time equivalent teachers supported by ten part-time teaching assistants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, we are an enthusiastic and dedicated professional team who are committed to giving your child the best introduction to their education.<\/span><\/p>\n

We appreciate that the early years of education are a vital time for your child. Our ethos and values are to ensure that the basic skills and knowledge in reading, writing, numeracy and investigating the world around us are wholly developed; whilst providing wider opportunities through extra curricular activities planned throughout the academic year. Subsequently we are recognised by the Local Authority as an Extended School. We run our own Breakfast and After School Club to ensure high quality wrap around care. All staff are extremely proud of the school, which includes a bespoke Year 5\/6 building with 4 classrooms, a dedicated ICT suite, recently-refurbished light-filled atrium and a purpose-built Foundation Stage area consisting of two classrooms.<\/span><\/p>\n

The school is fortunate to have extensive grounds that include a playground area, an environmental study area, a spacious field and an extensive Forest School\u00a0 woodland\u00a0 area. We have recently refurbished the school pond which has enabled us to further develop our outdoor education.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The school\u2019s Governing Body is very supportive and enthusiastic in its role. The Friends of Wood Ley School also help to underpin the school\u2019s fundraising efforts and school events throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n
